Lost Boys - The Tribe & Lost Boys - The Thirst

I watched them back to back and I liked them both, but neither one is on the same level as the original Lost Boys. The Thirst shows some archived footage of Corey Haim as Sam. Sam seems to be on Edgar Frogs mind a lot because Sam turned vampire and Edgar had to stake him.

Diablo III was released last night. Are any of you planning on playing it? I love the Diablo franchise. Game Stop opens at 11am. I would have gotten it last night if I cared for crowds.

This is easily one of the most scariest games I have ever played. Try to play this game late at night with the lights turned off and with headphones in your ears, you are bound to have nightmares for days to follow.

This one is not like a lot of other games in its genre. You have nothing to defend yourself with, and as you slowly lose your sanity in the darkness, hallucinations play in front of your eyes. You should definitely play Amnesia if you are a fan of horror games.

If you haven't... It takes place in Maine, as so many of his books do, and it's about a store that opens up in a small town. The store is called Needful Things, and the book centers around how the store affects the town and the people living in it.

I just started rereading Stephen King's Dark Tower series. It's long and gets pretty weird, but I enjoy it, even with the shocking ending. Has anyone else here read it?

Aliens

One Halloween my entire family was dressed as Aliens. I was about 9 years old and was supposed to be with my friends trick-or-treating. Sadly, they had gone ahead of me. I don't remember much, but I remember being stranded on the road in my Alien costume and it was foggy. I'll probably remember that scene for the rest of my life. I thought Aliens were going to come get me!

We caught this over the weekend and I have to say I am a little surprised as the role Milo Ventimiglia pulled off. I doubt I will ever think of him again as the sweet and innocent guy from the TV show Heros. Take about a role reversal!

Torture Museums

Kids and haunted houses

When I was growing up all the neighborhood kids used to "know" of a haunted house on a certain street. We "knew" it because it looked scary. We passed it by every day on the way to school but no one dared to climb the fence. Anyone here go through the same thing growing up? Where all the neighborhood kids talked about a haunted house but no one had the guts to actually go in and see for themselves?

Looking back it's all kind of funny now.

Chernobyl Diaries

I saw the trailer for this while waiting for The Cabin In The Woods to start. It doesn't come out until May 25th. It is about a group of tourists who decide to visit Chernobyl, and then they are terrorized by people (I guess?) that never left. It's sort of confusing! However, it looks pretty scary to me, and the man who directed it was the same man who came up with Paranormal Activity series.

Anyone else thinking of going to see it when it comes out?

A Spidery Pergola

We built a pergola over our back patio. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Unfortunately the spiders have discovered it and they spin giant webs that span its entire 12 foot length, and what makes it worse is that you don't always see the webs right away. I've been lucky I haven't walked right into a web yet; if I do, I will probably go insane.

I told my husband I'm not going out on the back patio anymore. I'm not taking any chances with those spiders.

I consider myself a fan of Koontz and I've read a whole load of his books, and enjoyed them but, I started "Lightning" a few night ago and I just can't get into it! I read it in bed before I go to sleep and last night, I had to re-read a few pages to remind me what was happening! Is it one of his worst or what?

Films Based on Urban Legends

I recently watched a short horror film called Red Balloon. It's very good and if you want to see it for yourself here it is:

Right at the end I realized that the story is inspired by an urban legend, about a killer clown, that was recently posted in another thread.

Later in the same thread the film Turistas is mentioned, which is probably based on the kidney theft legend (which is apparently true).

This got me wondering how many films are based on urban legends and I thought it might be interesting to try and make a list.

I saw this trailer the other day and it looks interesting. It looks a little like a cross between Wrong Turn and Resident Evil. Has anyone seen it yet? Is it worth taking the time to see?
